Mine Altunay is a computer science researcher focusing on information security. At Fermilab, she plays multiple roles. As SCD Security Coordinator, she is responsible for ensuring SCD systems meet the laboratory’s security requirements and provide a secure and convenient environment for our scientists. In her role as OSG Security Officer, she is responsible for securing OSG infrastructure and designing its access control and identity model. Finally, as CMS Security Officer, she is responsible for secure operation of CMS services and data. She has a PhD in information security from North Carolina State University. Her main research focus has been on identity management in distributed collaborative environments such as cloud computing. In the past, she was a research fellow at IBM Research at Tokyo Japan, and was a member of IBM Extreme Blue team and IBM HiPODS teams.
